ZBGC Youth Project

The ZBGC Youth Project is part of the Healthy Equal Youth (HEY) partnership, funded by the Victorian State Government to improve the lives and wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ young people and their families.

The ZBGC Youth Project works with and advocates for trans and gender diverse (TGD) young people and their families to ensure that their rights, health and wellbeing are being advanced and protected.

As part of the Youth Project, the ZBGC:

  • Provides youth-focused TGD inclusive practice training for youth workers
  • Offers youth workshops for LGBTIQA+ and TGD young people to feel empowered in their identities, relationships, peer groups, school, work and home environments
  • Creates resources, including posters, on a variety of topics such as inclusion, sex and consent, and prevention of gender-based violence
  • Provides secondary consultation and advocacy to peak bodies, research initiatives, and government institutions about TGD inclusive practice to ensure TGD young people and their perspectives are actively included in strategies/programs to improve their health and wellbeing.
