Editable tiles

1. Access the Canva frames template from this link.

2. This opens a copy of the file for you to use. First, make a supportive message tile – Page 1 is the template for this. Double click into the temporary text that’s currently on the template, and delete that temporary text. Type your own message of support in the free space.

TIP: The colour contrast of the black text is best on the white area of the tile. Use the Enter key to add line breaks so each line isn’t too long.

3. Next, you can use one of the headshot frames – these are the remaining eight pages in the file. Choose the frame with the hashtag message you’d like to use – there are four to choose from. If your photo is light, you should use one with black text, and if its dark use one with white text.

4. To import your photo to Canva, drag and drop it from your desktop or file menu onto the left side of the screen – the tools menu next to the file’s pages. It should appear in the ‘Uploads’ section once it has loaded into the Canva system.

5. Click on the photo and it should appear on the top layer of the frame. Click and hold on this copy of the photo and move your mouse a little – it should jump into the frame – the part of the picture that looks like a sky and countryside.

6. You can now add your name and work role – double click the temporary text and replace it as you did in step 2.

7. To use your new social tiles, export them from Canva by clicking the Share button at top right, then clicking Download – this will let you pick the tiles you want to export. (Or you can just download everything from the file with the ‘All pages’ option.) Find your tiles in your Downloads folder and upload them to your social network of choice

8. You can post your new social tiles, with stand-alone support tiles that have endorsement from our lead trans organisations, available to download from Transgender Victoria, the Zoe Belle Gender Centre and Transcend.
